Patrick Armstrong: Decision Delayed On Murder Suspect's Detention
AUGUSTA, Maine -- The order means Patrick Armstrong will remain at the Mountain View Youth Development Center in Charleston pending a detention decision in the weeks ahead. In the meantime, Armstrong will undergo a psychological evaluation.
District Judge Charles LaVerdiere today also ordered that no information from that evaluation be released until he can review the complete report. Armstrong is accused in the slaying of 14-year-old Marlee Johnston, whose body was found near Lovejoy Pond in Fayette on November 26th. Investigators have revealed few details about the killing, and that information today remained impounded by the court.
Still unknown is whether the state will seek to have Armstrong tried as an adult. The boy's lawyer, Walter McKee, wants Armstrong tried as a juvenile, which could bring a less-severe penalty. McKee says a dispute over that issue could drag the case out.

I'm just sick about the murder of a 14y/o Marlee Johnston by a 14y/o person old enough to know right from wrong. He grew up and lived in a nice neighborhood. where the people are educated and civilized. The people in that neighborhood take care of each other. All of the neighbors were great examples.
There are no excuses, he must be punished for the crime he committed, murder is a crime where the punishment should be for the rest of the his life.
sincerely
