Kimberly Ann Cordrey-McKinney: Female Teacher Arrested On Sexual Abuse Charges
An Eastern Maryland teacher was charged Wednesday with sexual abuse after she allegedly had sex with a 16-year-old who attends the high school where she teaches, state police said.
Kimberly Ann Cordrey-McKinney, 32, of Chestertown met the 16-year-old student at Kent County High School in Worton, but he was not in any of her classes, troopers said.
The county Department of Social Services learned of the alleged sexual abuse, and, with the Kent County Detachment of the state police, began an investigation on Oct. 25.
The 16-year-old said he and Cordrey-McKinney had several conversations and exchanged text messages beginning in the fall. He also said that on three nights, the teacher picked him up in her car and drove him to secluded areas, where the two engaged in sex acts.
Tonight, Denise Woodall, a parent at the school, tells Eyewitness News' Kimberly Houk, "I'm just shocked because I had no inclination at all. This is not acceptable for teachers to be like this.
Cordrey-McKinney has been charged with two counts each of sexual abuse of a minor, child abuse from a custodian, unnatural/perverted sexual practice and second-degree assault. She is awaiting a bond hearing, state police said.
