Following the Evidence re: Teresa Halbach

There were some disturbing developments that came out of a press conference Wednesday afternoon with the special prosecutor and lead investigator on Teresa Halbach's disappearance.

Sheriff Jim Pagel said, "The evidence that has been collected and that [the State Crime Lab is] analyzing is that of human in nature." The sheriff would not be specific about what that human evidence is, but said it comes from Avery Auto Salvage.

Investigators continued to request and execute even more search warrants Wednesday after finding evidence "in the past 24 hours" they believe points them to both the victim and a suspect.

The search has focused on the salvage yard in northern Manitowoc County. Authorities revealed they were doing some digging on or near the property. Not only do they continue to search cars and buildings on the property but the State Crime Lab is working through the night analyzing everything searchers find.

"We've received in the past couple of days some information. We received significant information today from the State Crime Lab," special prosecutor Ken Kratz said, "and within the next 24 to 48 hours, we hope to get even more important information."

Investigators cut the press conference short, saying they were right in the middle of more investigative efforts.

They hesitated when asked if they might have more news Wednesday night, then said something could come as soon as Thursday morning.
