Former Police Officer Sentenced For Molesting Boy
OSSIPEE, N.H. -- A former Wolfeboro, N.H., police officer was sentenced Tuesday to more than 10 years in state prison for sexually assaulting a boy.
Robert Tierney, 51, was convicted June 30 on 93 counts of molesting a boy nearly 20 years ago. That boy is now 30 years old. Tierney faces another trial for similar charges involving a second boy, who is now 35.
Tierney was convicted in 2001 on 251 counts of molesting both boys. But the state Supreme Court overturned the convictions in 2003, saying Tierney should have had separate trials for each of his accusers.
Tierney has maintained his innocence.
