Camp counselor faces sex abuse charge
Police say he molested boy, showed porno.
HARDWICK TWP. -- A 24-year-old camp counselor was jailed Saturday on charges he molested a boy and showed a group of campers a pornographic movie, the Warren County Prosecutor's Office said.
Authorities said Robert Dion Fayte Williams showed parts of the pornographic DVD to a group of campers on Thursday at YMCA Camp Ralph S. Mason on Birch Ridge Road. He later molested a 12-year-old boy who was attending the camp, authorities said.
Authorities did not indicate whether the alleged victim had viewed the DVD with Williams.
Members of the New Jersey State Police at Hope and the Warren County Prosecutor's Office Sexual Assault and Child Abuse unit arrested Williams on Saturday without incident.
Marina Karlovich, a village leader at the camp, said Sunday the camp had no further comment on the incident.
"It's in the hands of authorities we have no other information at this point," she said. "A statement will be released to the media in the near future."
Williams, of Pilot Knob, Mo., is charged with one count of second-degree sexual assault by contact and four counts of second-degree child endangerment.
Each of the charges carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison, authorities said.
The incident remains under investigation.
Judge John C. Coyle sent Williams to the Warren County jail in lieu of $150,000 bail. Williams' first appearance in court is scheduled for today.
