Amber Alert issued after 3 bodies found

Alert issued for two children

COEUR d'ALENE, Idaho -- Three people were found slain in a home, and an Amber Alert was issued Tuesday for two children who live there, authorities said.

Authorities were called about 6:15 p.m. Monday by a neighbor who reported "suspicious circumstances" at the house on a bay of Lake Coeur d'Alene, sheriffs Capt. Ben Wolfinger said.

The bodies bore obvious signs of injury, but the identities of the victims and cause of death remained undetermined, Wolfinger said.

"They're treating it as an obvious homicide," Wolfinger said.

An Amber Alert was issued for an 8-year-old Shasta Groene and her 9-year-old brother, Dillon Groene.

The children lived at the house with their mother, sheriff's dispatch supervisor Barb McDonald said. She would not say whether the mother was believed to be one of those slain.

The house is about eight miles from town, authorities said.
