Potential Victim Comes Forward In Sex Assault Case
Local, Federal Investigators Seek 2 Possible Accomplices
HOUSTON -- Another potential victim came forward with allegations that a man accused of sexually assaulting an 11-year-old boy also assaulted him, Missouri City police told Local 2 Wednesday.
At a news conference Monday, police released a picture of 26-year-old Keven Bramwell, who is suspected of sexually assaulting and taking lewd pictures of an 11-year-old boy. Investigators said they did not believe that this was Bramwell's first assault and wanted other victims to come forward.
A second potential victim came forward Tuesday.
"(The second victim) also described several episodes of child pornography being sent to him from Mr. Bramwell. We have secured a computer for a forensics examination," Missouri City Police Department spokesman Greg Nelson said. "We've always felt there were several victims in Fort Bend County and possibly other parts of the country."
So far, the two victims, both boys, claim Bramwell sexually assaulted them and attempted to lure them into a child pornography ring.
Federal authorities are working with Missouri City police to trace Bramwell's past, which includes residences in seven states.
Nelson told Local 2 he hopes other victims, or people who knew if Bramwell had contact with other children, will come forward but said investigators are concerned that people may be too embarrassed.
"We are concerned that a sense of shame may be preventing people from calling the police," Nelson said.
Investigators said they are also looking for two accomplices. Police said those two suspects may continue preying on children despite Bramwell's incarceration.
Bramwell was arrested Friday night. Police said the suspect abducted, sexually assaulted and took photographs of an 11-year-old boy on March 11. The sexual assault reportedly occurred at the Flagship Drive-Thru Self Storage on Cartwright in Missouri City, where he kept a digital camera.
The victim told officials his attacker lured him away from the Magic Mufflers, Brakes & More auto shop on Highway 6, promising him $150 to pose on his skateboard. The boy was at the auto shop with his 18-year-old sister.
The Missouri City Police Department learned about the crime after the boy's father found a fake check made out to his son for $150 and questioned him about it.
Investigators said they named Bramwell as the boy's attacker because the child remembered which unit his attacker stopped at while at the storage facility. Officials found evidence in the form of electronic equipment and photographs inside a storage unit and believe Bramwell used cameras to document the crime.
Police said the suspect has lived in Sugar Land for only one year but confirmed that he has lived all over the country. He also changes his appearance, authorities said.
Missouri City police charged Bramwell with aggravated sexual assault of a child and taking lewd photographs -- both felony charges.
Bramwell, who is not a registered sex offender, is currently being held in the Fort Bend County Jail on a $750,000 bond. He was placed on suicide watch Monday night after he attempted to kill himself.
