Anchorage man sentenced for possessing child pornography
Anchorage, Alaska - An Anchorage man was sentenced Monday to more than 11 years in federal prison for possession of child pornography and being a felon in possession of firearms.
Dean Bryan Bower, 46, had previously been convicted of child sexual abuse, which earned him a mandatory minimum of 10 years in prison. The added time was for other offenses.
Bower was nabbed as part of Operation Predator, a federal program that investigates child pornography on personal computers.
The fact that Bower sexually abused a child automatically added 10 years to his sentence.
