Pasadena man charged in rape, abuse of girl
UNION BRIDGE - An Anne Arundel man was arrested Thursday and charged with raping a Union Bridge girl, Carroll County authorities said yesterday.
Richard Alan Katsaros, 39, of the 600 block of 205th St. in Pasadena was charged with one count of second-degree rape, one count of sexual abuse, one count of second-degree assault, one count of a second-degree sexual offense, one count of a third-degree sexual offense and one count of fourth-degree sexual offense. He is being held at the county detention center. His bail was set at $150,000 yesterday.
Charging documents said Katsaros had sex with the girl about 10 times at a Union Bridge apartment between April 2003 and November 2004. Police said the girl was 12 when the abuse began. Sheriff's Deputy Cpl. Brad Brown, the arresting officer and a member of the county's Child Abuse and Sexual Assault unit, said in his report that Katsaros admitted his actions in a telephone conversation with to girl's mother Jan. 13.
