Teacher charged with child porn
NY
The case against a former teacher in North Tonawanda contains child pornography charges that weren’t included in the original indictment.
Detective Karen Smith of the North Tonawanda Detectives Bureau said the pornography was found on computers from the suspect’s home.
According to Smith, four computers were confiscated from Michael J. Solomon’s home during a search.
“Evidence was found on three of the four computers,” she said.
Solomon is a former music teacher at St. John’s Lutheran School on Ward Road. He was arrested in early June after an investigation by North Tonawanda detectives into alleged abuse of an underage girl.
Smith confirmed the abuse took place off school grounds and the victim was not a student at the school.
Solomon, 40, 161 Stenzil St., pleaded not guilty to 10 counts of second-degree rape, eight counts of possession of a sexual performance by a child, seven counts of second-degree criminal sexual act, four counts of use of a child in a sexual performance and single counts of first-degree rape, first-degree course of sexual conduct against a child and second-degree course of sexual conduct against a child.
Bail was set at $20,000 cash or $40,000 property.
