Convicted Child Molester Accused of Striking Again
(Buffalo, NY, December 1, 2004) - - A convicted child molester is accused of striking again. And it's the same man that had parents outraged because they weren't notified of his presence. News 4's Barbara Pinson has more from the Erie County Holding Center.
This is the nightmare-come true parents in Gowanda had feared the most.
42 year old Louis Martina of Seneca Street in Gowanda has been charged with the rape and persistent sexual abuse of a young girl.
Police say Martina came to them with a note supposedly written by a girl, claiming another man sexually abused her.
Investigators determined it was instead Martina who committed the abuse.
Just a year ago, parents complained before the Gowanda School Board that the Level 3 sex offender moved into town without their knowledge.
Now they're just relieved to know he's in the hands of police, and cannot abuse any children from behind bars.
Martina is locked up here at the Erie County Holding Center in lieu of 10,000 dollars cash bail.
He previously served time for a child molesting case in the Town of Tonawanda.
