Bountiful man enters innocent to several counts in child porn case

FARMINGTON, Utah (AP) - A 47-year-old Bountiful man pleaded innocent to multiple counts of sex abuse charges.

Robert Roy Baker is charged with 10 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, two counts of aggravated sexual abuse of a child, two counts of rape of a child and two counts of sodomy of a child.

He faces up to one to 15 years in the Utah State Prison on the first 10 counts and up to life in prison on each of the last six counts. He remains jailed in Davis County and will next appear in court Dec. 28.

Police have said the abuse charges are in connection with alleged sexual activity with a girl when she was a pre- and young teen, from January 1993 to December 1996.

After she contacted police about the alleged abuse, Baker was arrested in his home Nov. 2.

On Nov. 3 the exploitation charges were added because he allegedly had photo albums, CDs and a briefcase containing photos of children in sexual acts in his possession during his arrest.

Police have said there was no computer in Baker's home, but all the photos had been downloaded from the Internet.
