A 56-year-old New Bern woman was arrested Thursday night in connection with a case of sexual crimes against a juvenile that also allegedly involve her husband.
Willie Mary Crook, of 915 Eubanks St., faces charges of child abuse/sexual act, aiding and abetting indecent liberties with a child and contributing to the delinquency, neglect or abuse of a minor.
Charles Crook, 56, Willie Crook's husband, was arrested Nov. 11 and charged with first degree statutory rape and first degree sexual offense. He is in jail under a $100,000 secured bond.
Police said the victim is not related to the Crooks but had been in their care for about eight years. The child is now in the custody of social services.
