Man faces child abuse charges
He's accused of beating, molesting

SAUCIER - A 24-year-old Saucier man could spend up to 65 years in prison if found guilty of abusing a child and sexually assaulting the boy's teenage sister.
Harrison County sheriff's investigators said deputies learned of allegations involving Roy Alexander Bilbo Jr. while responding to a domestic violence complaint. Bilbo left the home before deputies arrived, said Sheriff's Capt. Ron Pullen.
A 15-year-old girl told deputies of sexual abuse and officers noticed signs that her 9-year-old brother was beaten, said Pullen.
"The boy had some obvious physical injuries," Pullen said. "He was beaten with something, possibly an extension cord."
Investigators interviewed the girl at the hospital and arrested Bilbo there later Friday night. He is charged with touching a child for lustful purposes, sexual battery and felony child abuse.
Authorities said the Pascagoula native is acquainted with the children. An 11-year-old male sibling also was present, but no charges have been filed involving that child.
The Department of Human Services has joined the investigation.
Justice Court Judge Melvin Ray set Bilbo's bond at $125,000. Bilbo was being held at the county jail pending an initial court appearance.
Felony child abuse applies to complaints of burns, torture or serious injury. The penalty is up to 20 years in prison. The maximum sentences for lustful touching and sexual battery are 15 years and 30 years, respectively.
Bilbo also is charged with misdemeanor domestic violence.
