A child advocate will represent a teen who said she was raped by a Pennsburg man who is awaiting trial in Montgomery County.
Farley Benjamin Place, 47, of 361 Main St., is charged with rape, statutory sexual assault, indecent deviate sexual intercourse, indecent exposure, corruption of minors and aggravated indecent assault.
He is accused of sexually assaulting a girl for four years. Police said the abuse began in 1999 when the girl was 11.
Place was in court Tuesday as attorneys worked on a non-trial resolution to the case, said Montgomery County Assistant District Attorney Barbara Ashcroft.
The advocate will interview the girl about the alleged assault and provide a report to the court, Ashcroft said.
She said Place is receiving counseling.
Place remains free on $50,000 bail and is ordered to avoid contact with children.
His attorney, Christopher Mullaney of Red Hill, could not be reached Tuesday for comment.
Police said Place touched the girl, performed lewd acts on her and coerced the girl to perform lewd acts on him in East Greenville and Pennsburg.
According to an affidavit of probable cause for arrest, the girl revealed the incidents to a pastor, who contacted a Montgomery County Office of Children and Youth caseworker.
The caseworker reported the incidents to police last October. In a written statement to police, Place admitted to much of the conduct.
