Suburban Seattle youth baseball coach arrested in child rape case

SEATTLE (AP) — A youth baseball coach in the suburbs east of the city has been arrested for investigation of child rape and sexual exploitation of a minor involving two brothers, authorities said.
The 36-year-old man was arrested Sunday, posted bail Monday and was released on condition that he have no contact with minors or those who have accused him of abuse, King County sheriff's deputies said.
After eight years as a coach in the Redmond Baseball Association, he was fired earlier this month after a player on his team of 13-year-olds accused him of making a sexually suggestive comment during practice, league president Karie Stephen said.
League officials and Redmond police subsequently tried to determine whether anyone else had had problems with the coach and two brothers, one 13 and the other 19, complained of "inappropriate conduct of a sexual nature," sheriff's Detective Rodney Chinnick said.
The younger boy's accused the man of misconduct from a few months ago and the older boy from three or four years ago, in each case at the coach's home outside Woodinville, Chinnick said.
